Thermal interface materials (TIMs) facilitate the transfer of heat between components such as batteries, IC chips, semi-conductors and other electronic devices by bridging the air gaps between the heat source and a chassis or heat sink. Since air is a poor conductor of heat, it is imperative to displace the air gaps with thermally conductive materials to draw heat away from the sensitive components and prevent power losses and thermal runaway conditions.
